Golf at Hillendale

Founded in 1923 and nestled in the rolling hills of northern Baltimore County, Hillendale Country Club is one of Baltimore's best kept secrets. Here you will find comfort, sophistication and gracious living in an atmosphere that enhances both family and business relationships.

Hillendale's golf course is known as a "traditional gem" with its rolling hills and small well-bunkered greens. Hillendale is rated as one of the most challenging golf courses in the greater Baltimore area. This William and David Gordon signature design masterpiece, built in 1954, pays respect to the timeless architecture of the game of golf.

Since the inception of our golf course, Hillendale has constantly made improvements to the course. In the 1970's, George Fazio was hired and fairway bunkers were added. Additional improvements in 2009 included new bunkers, forward tee boxes to improve enjoyment of the game for all players as well as improved back tee options for more skilled golfers. In addition, Hillendale has had multiple tree removal projects over the past several years that allowed for improved playability and helped create tremendous clubhouse views of the property while helping maintain the health of our greens.

The first hole is a slight dogleg left. The tee shot here is important because you cannot see the landing area. For the long hitters, a stream crosses the fairway at 300 yards off of the tee. The green is elevated and well bunkered to capture an errant shot.
